Photochromic lens are lens that change color when exposed to specific wavelengths of light (usually ultraviolet). When no longer illuminated by a light source, the lens returns to its original transmittance and becomes clear. This type of lens can be made of glass or plastic, and the color changing effect is achieved by adding silver chloride or other halides inside the lens.
